I have tried to validate the content and to revalidate the app, but I can not get the app to move along any further.

When I view the distribution status/content stats for the app, I see that it's successful but when I look at the app in the software library, the status of it to the device I deployed it to, it's showing as "in progress" and it will not move along further. I gave up on the package idea and tried it as an application, which is what we would prefer, we were able to successfully create the package, with the option to supersede the older version and to automatically download content when packages are assigned to DP.

After tinkering with the package for a week or so, trying many of the fixes I found online, including the Maddog2050 site, we were still unable to get successful installs over older version of java, 8u50 to be specific. I won't be able to remove older version of Java as our users rely on this daily. When it was as sent as a package, it fails to install with error 1603 (research on this leads no where.) The only time that this package will install successfully is on a clean install, this isn't an option for us in our environment. I have tried the deployment via package and application, both were with the MSI extracted from the EXE. I am running into an issue trying to deploy Java 8 Update 65 via SCCM. I apologize in advance about this length. As a general rule, if someone has flair, they almost definitely know what they're talking about.

  • Listing of Local ConfigMgr-related User Groups (largely outdated) URL shorteners cause this almost every time, but so do strings of apparent gibberish like WSUS and PXE sometimes. It might have been caught by the spam filter. Post your SCCM tips and tricks, requests for help, or links others might find useful! Post not showing up?
